PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and his wife Datin Seri Jeanne Abdullah were feted to a dinner to celebrate their marriage on Monday night.

Though Abdullah and Jeanne got married a month ago on June 9, both of them were treated to a special reception organised by the Public Services Department.

The event was made possible by personal contributions from all government officers and staff, including the police and armed forces.

Abdullah, who arrived at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre wearing a batik shirt, told the crowd that he felt out of place and had to leave the hall during dinner to change into his baju Melayu as the guests were all dressed for a wedding reception.

Also present at the dinner was Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Sidek Hassan and his wife Puan Sri Wan Noorlina Wan Hussin.
