DEWAN RAKYAT: Recruitment four times a year

POLICE will increase their recruitment exercises from two to four times a year to fill 60,000 vacancies by 2012.

Home Minister Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar said so far, 2,364 constables and 879 inspectors had been recruited this year. The target for the year is 5,000 constables and inspectors. More training centres would also be established, including one each in Langkawi and Ulu Kinta, Perak which are scheduled to open next year.
