MACC nabs federal dept head and Penang state agency senior officer

GEORGE TOWN: A federal department head and a Penang state agency senior manager have been arrested by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Agency for corruption.
Both men were arrested here Monday, Penang MACC director Datuk Latifah Md Yatim said.
She said the 44-year-old department head was arrested for asking and receiving a RM16,325 bribe from a contractor between 2008 and 2009 in relation to repairs and maintenance work.
She said the senior manager, aged 53, was arrested in relation to the supply of office equipment worth RM5,700 in 2006 which were never delivered.
Latifah said both men were expected to be charged in court on Tuesday.
